Coconut Bacon

Makes about 1 cup
Our Coconut Bacon is crispy, smoky and sweet—with barely a hint of coconut. It will satisfy any bacon-lover’s craving!


2 teaspoons tamari
1 teaspoon 100% pure maple syrup
2 teaspoons liquid smoke
1 cup dried wide coconut flakes or strips, unsweetened


  1. Preheat your oven or toaster oven to 325°F. Line a baking sheet with parchment paper or a silicone mat.

  2. In a mixing bowl, stir together the tamari, maple syrup and liquid smoke. Add the coconut flakes, tossing with a spoon to coat. Scoop the coated coconut onto the prepared baking sheet. Spread it out really well, making sure not to clump any of it in one area.

  3. Bake for 5 minutes, then give it a light stir with a fork. Bake for another 3-5 minutes, or until crispy and golden brown. Watch carefully as it can burn quickly.

  4. Remove from the oven and let cool. It will crisp up as it cools down!
