Guacamole

A really amazing guacamole is life changing. This is that guac. Simple. Five ingredients. That’s all you need.

Ingredients

3  avocados, ripe
1/3 cup red onion, finely chopped
2 tablespoons cilantro, chopped and packed
1/4 teaspoon sea salt, more to taste
1 squeeze fresh lime juice, more to taste

Directions

  1. Cut each avocado in half, remove the pit, scoop the flesh out with a spoon, and toss it into a bowl. Mash the avocado with the back of a fork until you get it to the consistency you like. I like to leave mine a bit chunky.

  2. Add the red onion, cilantro, and salt and mix to combine.

  3. Add a squeeze or two of fresh lime. Mix and adjust ingredients to taste. Pick up a chip and dig in!

Recipe Notes

Tip: When picking avocados, give them a gentle squeeze. They should not be hard! They should give a little, but not be too soft.

Optional: Want to spice up your guacamole? Add some diced jalapeños. If you don’t like pepper flavor in your guac (like me), try this: remove the seeds of a jalapeño and add a few of those. Wow!
